Healthcare Programs at Gerard Place

Trocaire College and Gerard Place are partnering to offer the Phlebotomy, Sterile Processing, and Pharmacy Tech programs. This application is free. Applications will be reviewed first come, first served.
Phlebotomy
Phlebotomists are technicians trained to draw blood for medical tests, transfusions, donations or research. Working in phlebotomy may require you to provide assistance if patients have adverse reactions to their blood draw or simply to explain your work and help patients feel less nervous. Phlebotomists are also responsible for the assembly and maintenance of a variety of medical instruments including needles, test tubes and blood vials. It is vital that they also keep a safe and sanitary work area, as well as correctly label drawn blood for testing or processing.
