Healthcare Customer Service Program
The student will be prepared for entry-level placement in an insurance, front desk hospital, or medical office healthcare customer service role. The course will focus on preparing the individual with the communication skills needed within a medical office.

- Career skills/soft skills
- Customer Service
- Communication Styles
- Telephone Skills
- Interview Preparation
- Crisis Management
- Medical terminology
- Human Body systems understanding
- Basic electronic medical records navigation (including patient registration & scheduling within an Electronic Health Record system)
- Core knowledge of the medical insurance industry
- An introduction to insurance billing & coding requirements
- Additionally, the student will successfully navigate patient privacy and security issues as they relate to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Health Care Customer Service Program prepares and certifies participants in customer service skills; IT systems used in the delivery of customer service in a virtual service environment; and an understanding of the healthcare environment including medical terminology, billing, and coding. These skills and qualifications will allow participants to secure high demand jobs with major healthcare providers such as health provider systems and insurers.
