How to take the HESI Admissions Assessment Remotely (for 1st time tester at Trocaire College only)
CREATE A PROCTORU ACCOUNT
If you DO NOT already have a ProctorU account, simply use this link to sign up and complete the form fields. You should see Elsevier – HESI already selected as the Institution name under Enrollments. If you do not see this, please select Add Enrollment and select Elsevier-HESI from the drop down list.
If you DO already have a ProctorU account, please log in here using your previous credentials. You’ll need to add a new enrollment with Elsevier in order to take your HESI exam. To do this, follow the steps below:
- Log in to your existing account.
- Click the dropdown by your name in the upper right corner and select Account Settings.
- Scroll to where you see Enrollments and click Add Enrollment.
- Find and select Elsevier – HESI.
- Update any other field that you need to.
- Click Update Account at the bottom of the page.

CREATE AN EVOLVE ACCOUNT
Use the following steps to create an Evolve account and register for HESI Student Access:
- Visit https://evolve.elsevier.com/cs/
- Choose: I am a student.
- Under the box that says HESI Secured Exams, click on the link Register for Results and Remediation.
- Click on the blue Register button.
- This will take you to My Cart. Click the blue Proceed to Checkout/Redeem button at the bottom of the page.
- Now, you will either create an account or sign into an existing one.
New Users:
Begin by filling in the fields:
- Select Trocaire College (BUFFALO) as your Institution Name. Select either Nursing – Diploma for LPN or Nursing-Associate Degree for RN.
- You can select your anticipated graduation year in the next field (typically two years from the current year).
- You must enter your Trocaire student ID in the Student ID field in order for us to receive your scores. Please view the info and image below to obtain your ID number (in the format of A00000XXXXX).
Existing Users:
- Click on the Sign in button in the upper right-hand corner.
- Enter the username and password that you previously created. If you do not remember your information, you will need to utilize the Forgot Password/Username feature.
- Click on Account Settings. Update your contact information. Select Trocaire College (BUFFALO) as your Institution Name. Select either Nursing – Diploma if you are applying for the Practical Nursing program or Nursing-Associate Degree if you are applying for the Registered Nursing program.
- Select Trocaire College (BUFFALO) as your Institution Name. Select either Nursing – Diploma for LPN or Nursing-Associate Degree for RN.
- You can select your anticipated graduation year in the next field (typically two years from the current year).
- You must enter your Trocaire student ID in the Student ID field in order for us to receive your scores. Please view the info and image below to obtain your ID number (in the format of A00000XXXXX).
Note: Your username will be auto generated and will be a combination of your first initial, your last name, and a number or series of numbers.
How to obtain your Trocaire student ID number:
Click HERE to access your college application account using the credentials you created when you applied to Trocaire. At the bottom of the homepage you will see your student ID and can click Copy to Clipboard. You can then paste this in the Student ID field on your Elsevier account.
- When all fields are filled, including your Trocaire Student ID number, click Continue and on the next page click Register.
SCHEDULING YOUR REMOTE EXAM SESSION
Follow these steps WORD for WORD to make sure you schedule the right exam:
- After creating your Elsevier Evolve account, go back to the ProctorU tab, and make sure you are logged-in. Click the button that says Schedule New Session.
- In the dropdown labeled “Confirm your institution,” select **Elsevier – HESI**.
- In the dropdown labeled “Select a term,” select Trocaire College.
- In the dropdown labeled “Select your exam,” select Admission Assessment (A2) for LPN and RN Programs.
- Click Find Sessions.
- You can either select to test now or schedule a future date/time
- On the left side, select the date and time you’d like to take your exam. If you don’t see any good options for your selected date and time, please try another date and/or time. Note: Please schedule at least 72 hours in advance of the date/time you want to take your exam.
