Trocaire Surgical Technology Grad Hired by Cleveland Clinic

Christina Butcher

A recent graduate of Trocaire’s Surgical Technology program has been hired at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic.

Christina Butcher ’18, CST, became interested in the field of surgical technology after having the opportunity to shadow a day in the operating room more than two years ago. During her time at Trocaire, Christina served as the Surgical Technology Student Club president, as a mentor for her peers, and a supporter for new students coming into the program. She successfully graduated from Trocaire’s ST program in May 2018.

“My experience at Trocaire taught me not only how to be the best as a surgical technologist, but to work hard at anything put before me,” she said.

Dr. Linda Kerwin, dean of Health Professions and director of the Surgical Technology program, said she was extremely proud of the offer extended to Miss Butcher, and added that the program aims for these type of rewarding opportunities for all its graduates.

“I could always count on Christina to execute her very best both in the surgical setting and in the classroom,” Dr. Kerwin said. “Throughout her time at Trocaire, she showed impressive ability, skill, and commitment to the field of surgery.”

Congratulations, Christina!
