Trocaire College Opens Student Massage Therapy Clinic to Public

Student Massage Therapy Clinic to Public

Trocaire College is now offering discounted 60-minute massage sessions to the public at the Trocaire College student massage therapy clinic. Appointments are required and filling up fast. Under the supervision of instructors, Trocaire’s massage therapy students provide all types of massages from Swedish to Therapeutic at the main campus building located at 360 Choate Ave., South Buffalo.

“Each semester, Trocaire opens its doors to the public for supervised massage sessions. Our clinic gives the students the chance to test their skills in a supportive, real-world environment. Our mission is to allow students to practice their massage and communications skills as they prepare for a career as a professional Massage Therapist,” said Susan Sullivan, LMT, Trocaire’s massage therapy program director. “Community members are invited to be clients in our learning clinic as Trocaire students combine their classroom academics with technique and practice. Our massage therapists are taught to understand the mind-body connection and can help their clients understand why they need massage therapy.”

The Trocaire College student massage therapy clinic operates on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 1– 5 p.m. A 60-minute massage is just $40 for the public. Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 716-827-2518.

Trocaire College’s massage therapy programs include a 10-month certificate offering and a two-year associate in applied science degree. Each program combines lectures, laboratory experiences and clinical rotations at facilities throughout the region for a comprehensive understanding of both Eastern and Western massage therapy techniques. Graduates of both programs are eligible to sit for the New York State board licensure exam.
