Trocaire College adds Bachelor of Professional Studies in Healthcare Management to academic offerings

Designed to advance the working clinical professional to leadership positions in healthcare

BUFFALO, NEW YORK – May 4, 2020 – To address the need for skilled leadership within the healthcare industry, Trocaire College is adding a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Healthcare Management to its slate of academic program offerings. This new degree program will be available online beginning in Fall 2020.

“With the healthcare sector expanding and facing new challenges, the growth of positions in healthcare management creates opportunities for individuals with the right leadership skills,” said Trocaire President Dr. Bassam Deeb. “Trocaire has a long tradition of preparing healthcare professionals and this new degree program is designed to advance the working clinical professional from across a wide range of career paths to leadership positions in healthcare. Graduates will be armed with the tools to think comprehensively and strategically about healthcare trends to help lead innovation in the field.”

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of healthcare management occupations is projected to grow 18% from 2018 to 2028, faster than the average of all occupations. The median annual wage for medical and service manager occupations was $99,730 in May 2018.

Trocaire’s curriculum has been designed with input from regional employers, industry experts, and scholars and includes courses in healthcare management, leadership, strategic planning and quantitative analysis. Coursework is taught in seven week blocks online allowing students to take one or two courses at a time while progressing through the program in as little as eighteen months depending on transfer credit. The degree program also features an externship program for students to gain real world experience and network with local healthcare leaders and professionals.

Applicants must hold an associate degree in an allied health field from an accredited institution.
