Statement by Dr. Bassam M. Deeb, President Trocaire College regarding COVID-19 and updated college calendar

 

BUFFALO, NEW YORK – March 14, 2020 – “Trocaire College continues to monitor and assess the current and potential future impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on college operations. The health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, vendors and visitors are paramount. Therefore, we are making the following changes to the college’s calendar.

“All classes will be held as usual on Monday, March 16 and Tuesday, March 17, including scheduled mid-term exams. The college is shifting forward the usual Easter break previously scheduled for April 8 through April 12 to Wednesday, March 18 through Sunday, March 22 and students are asked not to come to campus during this time.

“Beginning Monday, March 23 and for the remainder of the academic semester, many courses will be moved to an alternate delivery methods via online, distance education format. Clinical placements will be handled on a course-by-course and program-by-program basis. Student support services will remain available to students and various formats will be considered. Faculty and staff will be on campus and resuming normal operations and schedules on March 23.

“We understand that there is a great deal of concern and uncertainty related to this outbreak and will be communicating regularly via email with our students, faculty and staff. It is our expectation that with appropriate measures we will be able to continue the delivery of knowledge to our students.”
