Trocaire College introduces billboards to thank local health care workers on the frontlines of COVID-19

BUFFALO, NEW YORK – March 31, 2020 – As an institution with a strong emphasis on advanced health care education and related workforce development programs, Trocaire College is now utilizing billboards originally directed towards enrollment events to thank local health care workers in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“In living up to our City of Good Neighbors motto, we hope these messages will resonate with the nurses, doctors and others on the frontlines in the battle against the coronavirus as they are driving to and from work,” said Dr. Bassam M. Deeb, president, Trocaire College. “Thank you to our local health care workers, including many of our own graduates, who have heeded the call. Your lives of purpose exemplify the Sisters of Mercy promise, the foundation upon which Trocaire was built.”

Nearly 1,600 Trocaire graduates are currently working at Western New York area hospitals, including approximately 660 at Catholic Health and more than 450 with Kaleida Health. This is in addition to hundreds of others employed in the local health care industry.

Eleven billboards are now up through April 5 along major highways and roadways throughout Erie County.
