Trocaire College today released figures from a study that calculated the college’s direct and indirect economic impact of $52.9 Million to the Buffalo Niagara region economy in 2019. The study was conducted by the Center for Governmental Research in Rochester, NY on behalf of the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities (CICU) in New York.
The study estimated the total direct spending by Trocaire College in 2019 was $19.1 Million; indirect spending by Trocaire College was estimated at $39.4 Million, and direct and indirect student and visitor impact was $13.5 Million.
Trocaire College has approximately 310 employees who generate $900,000 in personal income tax to New York State and $200,000 in state and local sales taxes, for a total tax revenue impact of $1.1 Million in 2019.
These figures demonstrate that in addition to providing our students with a high-quality education, we are having a positive impact on the local and regional economy as a major employer,” said Bassam M. Deeb, Ph.D., president, Trocaire College. “If you extrapolated this financial figure further to include the thousands of Trocaire College graduates who work in the regional health system and other industry sectors, these economic impacts are substantial.
Trocaire’s main campus is located at 360 Choate Avenue and 2262 Seneca Street, both in the City of Buffalo. The Trocaire Achievement Complex is on Transit Road in Williamsville.
