Janelle Ganje ’15 Named Kenmore Mercy Surgical Technologist of the Year

Trocaire alumna Janelle Ganje ’15, CST recently received Kenmore Mercy Hospital’s Outstanding Surgical Technologist of the Year award. The merits of this award are based on surgical skill, clinical excellence, critical thinking, integrity and a persistent interest in the field of Surgical Technology.

“Janelle is a positive, high energy team player who works seamlessly in all services of the Operating Room,” Kenmore Mercy said in a Facebook post. “Her specific knowledge of orthopedic cases stands out and helps to ensure surgeries go smoothly.”

Dean of Health Professions Dr. Linda Kerwin ’07, CST, RN, Ed.D said Janelle is a credit to Trocaire’s Surgical Technology program.

“Miss Ganje excelled both clinically and academically while in the program, and served as an outstanding resource to her colleagues and quickly became a role model for others,” she said. “She is a dedicated tech who stands out among her peers with regard to her ambition and enthusiasm.“

Janelle said she is grateful to take part in so many patients’ life-changing surgeries, and said she would not be here today without “her amazing colleagues, the rest of the wonderful staff at Kenmore Mercy and the clinical experiences that she enjoyed at Trocaire.”

Congratulations, Janelle!
