Are you looking for a way to enjoy all those summertime veggies? In Trocaire College‘s newest Workforce Development offering, “Easy Summertime Vegetarian Meals,” learn how to go meatless more often and make use of the season’s bountiful produce options.
This hands-on course is being offered at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1 and will be held at in Trocaire’s state-of-the-art teaching kitchen at our Transit Road Extension site in Williamsville. Participants will learn how to apply simple and effective culinary techniques to make tasty and impressive vegetarian meals. Whether you’re already vegetarian or looking to go meatless more often, this course will prove that veggie dishes need no longer be relegated to a side dish. Participants will learn how to make a grilled vegetable and polenta napoleon; a stir fry with tofu and seasonal veggies; portobello and zucchini tacos with elote (Mexican grilled corn); and black bean burger sliders for those summer cookouts.
This course will be led by Benjamin Glurich, a registered dietitian and chef who is currently working as a community dietitian helping low income families and individuals save money and eat healthy. He also serves as adjunct faculty at Trocaire, teaching Culinary Nutrition. Ben has 20 years of food service experience and has worked in restaurants, hotels, hospitals, catering, and institutional settings.
