Trocaire’s Inaugural Spring Soireé Set for April 27

Trocaire College is holding the Spring Soirée, its new fundraising event, at The Westin Buffalo from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, April 27.

The Spring Soirée replaces one of Trocaire longest-standing events, Reflections. It promises to be an elegant evening full of delicious food, tastings from local wineries, breweries and distilleries, a fabulous silent auction and live entertainment. This event is open to anyone in the Western New York community– to purchase tickets, visit Trocaire.edu/Springsoiree.

Tastings will be provided by Tommyrotter Distillery, Ellicottville Brewing Company, Flying Bison Brewing Company, Lockhouse Distillery, Big Ditch Brewing Company, and New York Beer Project.

In recognition of the college’s past, present and future, the event will also feature a presentation of the Distinguished Alumni Award and the Trocaire College President’s Award, as well as recognition of an outstanding student. Learn more about our honorees below!

Distinguished Alumni Award: This year’s Distinguished Alumni Award is being awarded to Bridget Gilewski ’99 ’00. She graduated from Trocaire’s Radiologic Technology program in 1999 and the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program in 2000. Bridget is not only the lead sonographer at Maple Ultrasound, but also an entrepreneur. Upon graduation, she formed Upstate Ultrasound, Inc. and Baby’s Bungalow 3D/4D Imaging Services. She has been a clinical mentor to Trocaire DMS students since 2009.

Trocaire College President’s Award: The 2018 Trocaire College President’s Award honoree is the Erie County Medical Center Health Information Management Team. The ECMC HIM department serves as a professional practice site for the college, and the individuals working in the department are strong mentors for Trocaire students. The team (several of whom are Trocaire graduates themselves) have provided meaningful real-world experiences that allow students to apply the knowledge gained through the college’s Health Information Technology program and grow as healthcare professionals.

Outstanding Student Award: Finally, this year’s Outstanding Student Award honoree is Jenna Kendzierski, a 2010 graduate of Western Kentucky University and currently a Radiologic Technology student at Trocaire. She served on active duty in the US Army for nearly 6 years, exiting with a ranking of Captain to pursue her RT degree at Trocaire. While spending her day as a student, a wife, and mother to her daughter Clara, Jenna also commits time to be a member of the Student Ambassador team and has made the Dean’s List every semester since starting at Trocaire.
