Trocaire’s Medical Assisting program is gearing up to celebrate Medical Assistants Recognition Week, Oct. 16-20, 2017, as designated by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). Medical assistants across the country will be recognized during this special week and honored on Medical Assistants Recognition Day (Oct. 18, 2017).
In celebration of Medical Assistants Recognition Week, Trocaire’s Medical Assisting program has planned the following special events and activities:
- Dinner with program alumni at Russell’s Steaks, Chops & More
- Lunch with Program Director Heather Thompson, AAS, RN, CCMA & Staff
- Several gifts and giveaways for current students
Medical assisting is a healthcare profession whose practitioners function as members of the healthcare delivery team and perform both administrative and clinical procedures. With their unique versatility, medical assistants are proving to be the allied health professional of choice for this decade and beyond. In fact, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, medical assisting continues to be projected as one of the fastest growing occupations.
