Catherine McAuley School of Nursing Update

Trocaire College Nursing Accreditation

April 20, 2017- The Trocaire College Practical Nursing, Associates of Applied Science in Nursing and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs are all accredited by The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

All three of the nursing programs have been and continue to be accredited.

During the 2014 regularly scheduled accreditation visit by ACEN, the Associates of Applied Science in Nursing program was granted continued accreditation with conditions and ACEN asked for follow-up by the program. The program responded to the request for follow-up and submitted requested information to ACEN.

In March, 2017, the ACEN Board of Commissioners removed the conditions element and granted the Associates of Applied Science in Nursing program continued accreditation. In doing so, ACEN determined that the program is in compliance with all accreditation standards and criteria. The next scheduled visit for the Associates in Applied Science in Nursing program will occur in 2022.

The Practical Nursing program is accredited and has a regularly scheduled ACEN accreditation review in October 2017.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is accredited and will undergo a regularly scheduled ACEN accreditation review in March 2018.

We look forward to overseeing our continued commitment to student success as identified in our Strategic Plan, as well as identifying new opportunities and innovations in teaching and experiential learning. We are proud of our programs and excited for their future.
