New York State Program Applies to Select Academic Areas for Spring Semester

Trocaire College is partnering with New York State to offer eligible full-time students who are starting their academic studies an opportunity to receive free tuition for select healthcare degrees as part of the state’s Career Pathways Training (CPT) Program.

“Trocaire is excited to participate in this offering from New York State and offer students free tuition,” said Dr. Bassam Deeb, president, Trocaire College. “This is a tremendous opportunity to ease the financial stress for students who want to pursue a healthcare career. Our goal is to work with the community to ensure we are providing career ready graduates for in-demand careers and this meets that goal.”

The Career Pathways Training (CPT) Program is an education and training program that was authorized under New York’s 1115 Demonstration Waiver, as part of the New York Health Equity Reform waiver amendment to create a reliable workforce pipeline to address workforce shortages by funding education and training for healthcare workers throughout the state. Participants will receive financial assistance to be used to pay for tuition, textbooks, and other fees, as well as educational case management and support including licensure exam prep and job readiness training. CPT participants will make a three-year commitment of services to Medicaid providers that serve at least 30% Medicaid members and/or uninsured individuals.

Trocaire academic programs eligible for the CPT Program include licensed practical nurse, registered nurse and medical assistant.

CPT Program funding is only available to new, full-time students starting the Spring 2025 semester.
